Point of Rocks is the site of a large US Army Field Hospital erected during Peterburg Campaign 1864-1865
In coordination with Chesterfield County, Several Heritage Groups Erected a Monument to mark the Hospital's temporary cemetery where those men of the campaign were buried before permanent removal after the war
