ABOUT US
Our Mission is to perpetuate the memory of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) and the men who served to save the United States. Our Objectives:
1. Educate people in the mission of Sons of Union Veterans Civil War (SUVCW) and promote membership in the Irish Brigade Camp No. 4.
2. Assist in the recovery, organization and preservation of Civil War documents and records.
3. Support the National Park Service through our assistance in the preservation of Civil War Monuments.
4. Assist in the organization, promotion and staffing of Civil War memorial events.
5. Prepare Civil War memorial assessments for those monuments within the local area.
6. Assist the SUVCW in national graves registration and erect monuments on sites, which contain the remains of Civil War veterans.

HOW TO JOIN
Hereditary Eligibility (Member & Junior) and
Non-hereditary Eligibility (Associate)
Member (and Junior): A male descendant, 14 years of age (6 to 14 for Juniors), who is directly descended from a Soldier, Sailor, Marine or member of the Revenue Cutter Service (or directly descended from a brother, sister, half-brother, or half-sister of such Soldier, etc.) who was regularly mustered and served honorably in, was honorably discharged from, or died in the service of, the Army, Navy, Marine Corps or Revenue Cutter Service of the United States of America or in such state regiments called to active service and was subject to the orders of United States general officers, between April 12, 1861 and April 9, 1865, and:
1. Has never been convicted of any infamous or heinous crime; and
2. Has, or whose ancestor through whom membership is claimed, has never voluntarily borne arms against the government of the United States.
Associate: Men who do not have the ancestry to qualify for hereditary membership may become Associates if they:
1. Has never been convicted of any infamous or heinous crime; and
2. Demonstrate a genuine interest in the Civil War; and
2. Can subscribe to the purpose and objects of the SUVCW
