The Department of the Chesapeake along with the Elizabeth Van Lew Tent #1 (Detached) of the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861-1865, the Department of the Chesapeake Auxiliary, the 2nd Military District of the Sons of Veterans Reserve and members of the Irish Brigade Camp dedicated a historical marker to the 12th West Virginia Volunteer Infantry on the Kernstown Battlefield in Winchester, VA on Saturday. A cooperative effort of the Kernstown Battlefield Association, the Allied Orders and the Fleming Family resulted in enrichment of the interpretation of the Battlefield and the memory of the 'Boys in Blue.’
